RideShare Delaware Puts Another Vanpool in Motion
with AAA Mid Atlantic's relocation to Riverfront

The Transportation Management Association of Delaware (TMA Delaware), administrator of the one and only statewide ridematch service, RideShare Delaware, proudly announces the start of another vanpool. This makes the third vanpool on the road through the RideShare program. This particular vanpool is represents a group of AAA employees who were recently relocated from Center City, Philadelphia to the Riverfront in Wilmington. The group will be commuting in a 12 passenger vehicle from New Jersey to Wilmington.

AAA Mid-Atlantic has been working with the TMA Delaware for over a year to assist its employees in the corporate headquarters location. In addition to this vanpool, AAA Mid-Atlantic and TMA Delaware have held several information meetings and site visits and have also assisted in providing information and contacts for carpools and public transportation to a majority of AAA's Delaware employees.

"We are very excited to add AAA to our list of vanpools," said TMA Program Manager, Tammy Ford. "The added driving distance from Philadelphia to Wilmington for many is a perfect motivation for vanpooling. Vanpooling provides significant cost savings to all members of the vanpool who share the monthly fixed cost, gas and/or toll expenses. AAA also offers their employees a pre-tax commute benefit adding to the savings as well. We're hopeful that other vanpools may form as a result."

"Carpooling is a win-win for everyone. It alleviates congestion on our roadways and allows commuters to travel more stress-free - they can leave the driving to someone else," said Catherine L. Rossi, Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. "AAA Mid-Atlantic appreciates that TMA Delaware is making this kind of transportation option available and affordable to our associates."

Vanpool organizer and main driver, Stuart Finkelstein simply states, "Vanpooling is convenient and saves money. I am happy to be the driver and to share the commute."
